Illegal Immigration:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-09-26-moving_N.htm

This item is about illegal immigration and new laws against it, which is putting fear into illegal immigrants and causing them to leave, since the government wants them to leave this means that the laws are effective, however there is nothing against legal immigrants. “Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta says, says, "We don't want to chase immigrants away, just the illegal aliens who are causing many of the problem we are having."”
The departure of these illegal immigrants scared of losing everything they have and so going back to the countries they came from has been noticed in schools too. “About 60% of Kendall-Whittier Elementary School's 950 students are Hispanic, Principal Judy Feary says. Since an enrollment report Sept. 10, she says, 14 have left. Four more said last week that they would move.”
It appears that the harsh new laws against illegal immigration are working.

I think this is very interesting, i would agree that this law does seem to be working. However it does make me wonder whether this law and idea of 'scaring' illegal immigrants away is truely ethical? after all these people are still human beings not animals. They clearly want to go to America to start a new life and better themselves, they also clearly wouldn't get into America legally hense why they are illegal, but why are they not aloud? How come they don't get the oppertunity to live in America? what makes them so different from all the other immigrants? I'm not sure of the answer myself.

I found this article one of the more distressing articles, but perhaps including information to give readers a more understanding wouldn't have made it seem as bad. To ferry out humans like that out of their homes through fear isn't right. However the article does try and show how they are doing it for the right reasons, that the states involved are becoming "inundated" with Latino people and want to take the states back for themselves, even though they are potentially breeching human rights.
This article was interesting, as it isn't a site thats portrayed as either right or left wing so it doesn't have a specific stance. This is possible a site for all Americans, which is even more worrying.
This is another example of how the argument about immigration isn't a plesant one.
